Environment Health & Safety Links

Occupation Safety & Health Administation, as part of the U.S. Department of Labor, has the primary responsibility of administrating the OSH Act. Part of the OSH Act is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions through Workers Right to Know. The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a national information system designed to protect Canadian workers by providing safety and health information about hazardous workplace materials.

TSCA Inventory
The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is a list of substances that are accepted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
DSL Search
The Domestic Substance List (DSL) is a list composed of substances that are known by Environment Canada.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) facilitates development of standards by establishing consensus among qualified groups. One of these qualified groups developed a standard for Material Safety Data Sheets.
